Relation between temporal muscle and artery. Origin: temporal fossa. Insertion: coronoid process of the mandible, pterygomandibular raphe. Function: elevate (close) lower jaw. Dorsal fibers are involved in the retrusion or backward movement of the mandible. Latin labels.
