The transversus abdominis muscle explained in a drawing
By Dr. David Morton, Univ. of Utah.
A nice and concise explanation of the transversus abdominis muscle, and its aponeurosis in a drawing.
(00m44s)
- This video describes the transversus abdominis as the fourth layer, because the author describes two layers of the external oblique muscle. To prevent confusions, be aware that in the textbooks it is uncommon to distinguish layers of the external oblique muscle, hence the transversus abdominis is most commonly described as the third layer of the lateral abdominal wall muscles.
