Description:
Embryonic development of pancreas. In normal embryonic development, the ventral and dorsal pancreas rotate clockwise to the hepatic diverticulum, these two parts then fuse together becoming the pancreas. A variation is a abnormal annular pancreas (pancreas annulare) where the duodenum is surrounded by a "ring" of pancreas. This results in compression of the duodenum. English labels.
