Description:
Branches of the abdominal aorta. The abdominal aorta starts when the aorta passes the aortic hiatus of the diaphragm. In its course, the abdominal aorta has many branches. Most arteries are paired, except for the celiac trunk, superior and inferior mesenteric artery, and the median sacral artery. Usually, the lumbar artery consists of four pairs (so eight lumbar arteries in total). English labels.
