Michigan - Website Histology and Virtual Microscopy

nid: 60350

Description:
A site primarily intended for histology education for Univ. of Michigan students by the University of Michigan. It is broader useful because it contains an ordered collection of hundreds of high-quality virtual histological sections, covering the entire human histology. These are open accessible and licensed under Creative Commons (CC BY NC SA). The list of slides is here.  The front page of the site also refers to course descriptions specifically for Univ. of Michigan students and to explanations how to set up the required viewer software. The one big disadvantage is that the web virtual slide viewer is Flash based, that is increasingly being disabled in browsers, alternatively the slides can be downloaded and viewed in a locally installed Aperio slide viewer.
