Description:
Differences between male and female pelvis. There are some differences between the male and female pelvis that can be seen in this image. The female pelvis is larger, wider and has a rounder pelvic inlet than the male pelvis. Moreover, the iliac crests of the male pelvis are higher than in the female pelvis, causing the false (greater) pelvis to be more narrow. In the lower two images, the difference between the angles of the inferior pubic rami can be seen. The female pelvis has a wider pubic arch (approximately the angle between thumb and index finger) than the male pubic arch (V-shaped, the angle between index and middle finger). English labels.
