Development of peritoneum demonstrated with a model, video 3: Rotation and retraction into the abdomen of the intestines

Description:
This video is the first video in a series of four demonstrating the peritoneal development with a home-made model.
In this video the 'magic' happens: the rotation of the intestines leads to the well known configuration of the colon surrounding the small intestines, with the transverse colon crossing the small intestine. The ascending and descending (meso)colons adhere to the back wall and become secondary retroperitoneal. Detaching these attachments is the basis of left and right hemicolectomies.
