Description:
This online interactive tutorial explains the anatomy involved in bladder control and micturition. One finds out the innervation of the bladder and the urethral sphincters and which nerves (sympathetic, parasympathetic or somatic) innervate which structures. Next the involved brain centers are dealt with. These basics are combined to the routing and involved nerves when not voiding respectively when voiding. Finally two forms of bladder function problems after spinal cord injury are discussed. This module is on the website Clinical Anatomy of the University of British Columbia.
