Description:
Phalanges of hallux: in situ. Dig. 1 (hallux) consists (just like dig. 1 of hand; pollux) of only two plahanges: the proximal and distal phalanx. The sesamoid bones shown are almost invariably enclosed in the tendons of the flexor hallucis brevis muscle. Latin labels.
