Description:
Bony pelvis: differences between male and female (inferior view). There are some differences between the male (above image) and female pelvis. The female pelvis is larger, wider and has a rounder pelvic inlet than the male pelvis. Moreover, the iliac crests of the male pelvis are higher than in the female pelvis, causing the false (greater) pelvis to be more narrow. There is a difference between the angles of the inferior pubic rami. The female pelvis has a wider pubic arch (approximately the angle between thumb and index finger), compared to the male pubic arch (V-shaped, the angle between index and middle finger). Latin labels.
