Description:
This is a schematized 3D model of the pelvic diaphragm muscles (levator ani + coccygeus) and the obturator internus. It also shows the deep part of the perineum including the ischio-anal fossa and the perineal membrane. This 3D model is part of a collection of 3D models and video's under the name 'About Medicine' that schematize medical or anatomical matters, created by Rueben Schmidt, medical student from Australia.
Erratum:
Different from what is shown in the model, presently the deep perineal pouch is considered to also include the ischioanal fossa (Moore's Clinically Oriented anatomy 7th ed.).
