Description:
Pulmonary and systemic circulation. The pulmonary circulation is a division of the circulatory system, it begins with deoxygenated blood returned from the body via the vena cava superior and inferior to the right atrium. The blood then goes via the right ventricle and pulmonary trunk to the lungs. In the lungs, the blood becomes oxygenated and enters the left atrium via the pulmonary veins. The systemic circulation is shown to a lesser extent; it begins in the left atrium and ventricle where the blood will travel from the aorta to the rest of the body.
