Description:
Liver hepatocyte and sinusoid. The hepatocyte is the most common liver cell, which fulfills most functions of the liver. Sinusoids are fenestrated capillaries in which the blood from the hepatic artery and portal vein mix. Between the hepatocyte and sinusoid, the perisinusoidal space (or space of Disse) is located, which contains the blood plasma. Note: in this version without labels, the desmosome is depicted slightly different than in the original image with labels.
