Description:
Hypothalamus, anterior and posterior pituitary gland. The hypothalamus releases hormones to stimulate or inhibit the anterior pituitary (adenohypophysis) hormone production via the hypophyseal portal veins (not shown). The posterior pituitary (neurohypophysis) is stimuated by neurosecretory cells via the hypothalamohypophyseal tract. English labels.
